“LoBel”³ PEG TYPE, REUSABLE, EAR PLUGS :

In many industries, workers are exposed to a high level of noise. Normal tolerance of human body is 80 to 85 dBs. The workers who are exposed to such noise abuse, for a long time are subject to irritation, fatigue, loss of concentration, anxiety, disorientation, rise in blood pressure & heart beats resulting in loss of their efficiency and directly affects productivity. Such prolonged exposure, ultimately may result in total deafness.

We have developed Earplugs from a special, hygienically acceptable material and are being marketed under the Brand name, “LoBel”³. They are ultra soft, non-irritating and inert to allergies. They do not affect the tender ear skin. Once “LoBel”³ is in position, being ultra soft, it’s presence ia hardly felt and they are infinitely more comfortable than the cumbersome earmuffs. These Earplugs have proved their superiority over sponge type due to their economical & reusable nature and more safe as they are non porous. These are tested for allergies in Mumbai.

In the market various brands of Earplugs were available with one problem or the other, before we introduced our “LoBel”³. “Sponge type Ear Plugs” – were in use in maximum industries. Owing to its absorbing and porous structure, they have a short use span & hence were proving costly. Sponge type earplugs are termed as disposable type by their manufacturers and “LoBel”³are “Reusable” type. They can be washed in soap and light antiseptic solution.

The sponge type earplugs to squeeze, are held between two fingers and inserted blocking the ear canal. Sponge type earplugs being porous, absorb every thing that comes its way including dust, ear fluids, ear wax and dirt or deposits from soiled hands or gloves of the worker. These cannot be washed, as they are absorbing type. What happens when the surface area of contact of earplugs, which has absorbed everything that is present on the fingers of the wearer, is held in position for 5-6 may be even 8-10 hours in contact with tender ear skin? Besides, ever threatening possibility of contamination of ear due to this accumulation can not be neglectd. Consider possibility of exchange of these earplugs by the workers and thus increasing this possibility many times. The sponge type earplugs thus prove to be UNSAFE, if not used as disposable type.

To overcome this hazard KATALIST introduces peg type “LoBel”³ earplugs wherein the surface area of contact is not held. Instead, the stem is held provided to insert the plug in place. The insertion in the ear is absolutely easy. “LoBel”³ Earplugs, to cut down the mono-tone of colour, are available in four attractive and pleasing colours.
